I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m a whiskey girl through and through. Jameson® Irish Whiskey to be exact! Not being able to visit the Jameson® Distillery in Dublin while we were there in May was one of my biggest regrets of our trip, I guess that just means we have to go back ASAP, am I right?

When I first saw the Jameson® Black Barrel on the shelf at Shaw’s Supermarket, I knew it was coming home with me. It’s twice charred and triple distilled and I love the hint of fruit with a smooth and rich spice you get from it. Let’s just say I was a little more than excited to craft up some cocktails with it, but it’s perfect on the rocks too.

If you haven’t noticed by now, I’m kind of a fan of soda cocktails. A bright lemon lime soda like 7-Up® can really make a cocktail come to life, especially in the summer months. Speaking of summer, how about those cherries everywhere right now? I seriously can’t get enough of them and the idea of a Cherry 7 and 7 sounded like a fantastic one! The fresh cherries and cherry liqueur blend beautifully with the Jameson® and the 7-Up® spritzes things up a bit for a fun and fruit cocktail with a smooth whiskey finish.

We don’t tend to have a lot going on in the summer, I mean, we’re always crazy busy, but no special occasions. We tend to be drawn more towards micro-occasions, you know, celebrating the little things or getting together with friends and family just because. I love this cocktail because you can easily make a batch of it or an individual glass, so whether you’re celebrating a personal win or getting together for a family reunion, you’re golden!
