Deliciously Easy Cookies

These Chocolate Kiss Cookies resemble the classic Peanut Butter Blossoms that are also topped with Hershey’s kisses. The biggest difference being that these are chocolate cookies instead of peanut butter and are dressed up for Valentine’s!

Don’t worry though, these are seriously just as delicious!

This recipe lets you cross treats for Valentine’s Day off your list while also spending time in the kitchen with the kids! Their little hands are the best help for unwrapping all those yummy Hershey’s kisses!

Chocolate Kiss Cookies Ingredients

Using pantry staples and a couple of store-bought ingredients you’ll be able to whip up two dozen cookies! The perfect amount to share while also sneaking some off to the side for yourself!

Cocoa powder, flour, salt, unsalted butter, granulated sugar, an egg, whole milk, and vanilla extract make up the cookies themselves.

Two packs of Valentine’s nonpareils and a bag of Hershey’s kisses are used to dress the cookies up! My family loves the caramel kisses but feel free to choose what you and your family prefer!

Hershey Kiss Variations

We really like using caramel kisses on our cookies but whatever variety your family loves will go great on top of this chocolate cookie.

Hershey’s Hugs with white cream or Kisses Lava Cake would also make for a super yummy Chocolate Kiss Cookie!

Make these cookies for any holiday by switching out the color of the nonpareils or use rainbow for an everyday sweet treat!

How To Make Chocolate Kiss Cookies

  1. Cream together the butter and sugar, and add in the egg, milk, and vanilla until combined. Then, add in the dry ingredients.
  2. Freeze the dough in plastic wrap for about 20 minutes or until firm.
  3. Roll the dough into 1 inch balls. Then coat each cookie dough ball in the nonpareils, tossing them to coat. Then bake the cookies about 2 inches apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for about 12 minutes.
  4. Press a Hershey Kiss into the center of each cookie before removing them from the pan. Then allow cookies to cool completely to room temperature on a wire rack.

How To Store Chocolate Kiss Cookies

You can store these cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. If your home is particularly warm consider keeping them in the refrigerator to prevent the Hershey’s Kisses from melting.

How Come There’s No Baking Powder In This Recipe?

Not having baking powder in this recipe actually allows the cookies to be denser, which produces a chewier cookie.
