How To Make Homemade Bolognese
1. Begin by adding a bit of olive oil and the ground beef to a large saucepan and browning the meat over medium heat, stirring regularly until no longer pink.
2. Once the meat is browned, drained the fat and add more olive oil and the finely chopped onions and cook for about 5 minutes or until the onions become translucent.
3. Next, add in the minced garlic cloves and cook for 1 minute, stirring regularly to ensure that the garlic does not burn.
4. Add in the remaining ingredients and stir to combine. Reduce heat and simmer over medium-low heat for 30 to 40 minutes until sauce reaches the desired thickness, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Simply replace this ground beef with ground turkey in this recipe! You could also substitute with ground chicken, veal, or pork.

How To Enjoy Spaghetti Bolognese Sauce
I love topping pasta with a hearty Bolognese sauce because it adds tons of protein to an otherwise carb-heavy dish.
With “back to school season” just around the corner, this simple sauce is perfect for inspiring home-cooked weeknight dinners. It’s also the perfect way to get everyone around the table for a cozy Sunday afternoon meal with company and conversation.
Serve it with steamed veggies or a side salad, and you’ll have a complete balanced meal.
This Bolognese recipe is so thick and hearty on its own, you might be tempted just to eat it with a piece of buttered crusty bread. Some might even argue that scooping up the saucy meat at the bottom of your bowl is the best part of the meal!
