To make a homemade berry simple syrup, you will need frozen mixed berries (we used raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries), granulated sugar, and water. I just grabbed a bag of Trader Joe’s Organic Mixed Berries, but any frozen mixed berries will get the job done!
How To Make Berry Lemonade
- Prepare the homemade berry simple syrup by combining frozen mixed berries with granulated sugar and water in a medium saucepan.
- Simmer the berry mixture over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved and the berries have burst and broken down.
- Wash the lemons, slice them in half, and then use a citrus press to squeeze the juice out of the lemons into a liquid measuring cup.
- Remove the simple syrup mixture from the heat and allow it to cool. Then, strain the mixture into a pitcher to remove the pulp.
- Add the fresh lemon juice and cold water to the pitcher of berry simple syrup. Then stir to thoroughly mix the Berry Lemonade.
