A Closer Look At These Mouthwatering Treats!

Prepare your taste buds to be completely captivated by these Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites! Their salty-sweet flavor and creamy-crunchy texture make them the ultimate snack that’s pleasing in every way!

These delicious bites are inspired by the popular Ben and Jerry’s Chubby Hubby ice Cream! Both treats have the same flavor except vanilla ice cream.

I love how easy it is to make a batch of these peanut butter pretzel bites since they’re a no-bake recipe that calls for just a handful of ingredients! Making them a quick option to make for birthday parties or holidays with the family.

Ingredients For Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites

  • Creamy Peanut Butter
  • Salted Butter
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Snaps Pretzels
  • Chocolate Melting Wafers
  • Sea Salt
  • Sprinkles

That Salty, Sweet Peanut Butter Filling

The peanut butter filling in these pretzel bites is absolutely heavenly! It’s actually the filling I use in my Peanut Butter Buckeye Balls Recipe so you know it’s good!

Though it’s made with only 4 ingredients it delivers a decadent flavor and texture! I make it with Jif creamy peanut butter, but an off-brand would work as well.

Keep in mind that an all-natural peanut butter is more likely to require more sugar in the mixture. As well as possibly altering the consistency of the filling.

When you’re rolling the filling into balls, you want a soft fudge-like texture. If you find that it’s not firm enough to roll you can add an additional 1/2 cup of powdered sugar.

How To Make Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites

  1. Cream the peanut butter, butter, and vanilla together in a large bowl.
  2. Sift in the powdered sugar and beat the peanut butter filling together until it becomes smooth.
  3. Chill the mixture in the fridge.
  4. Line large baking sheets with parchment paper and arrange the snaps pretzels onto them.
  5. Remove the peanut butter filling from the fridge and roll the mixture into balls. Top each pretzel with a small peanut butter ball and add a pretzel on top of it to create a sandwich, gently pressing down to secure.
  6. Melt the chocolate in the microwave at intervals until smooth.
  7. Dip each pretzel sandwich halfway in the chocolate and place it back on the parchment paper.
  8. Sprinkle with sea salt or sprinkles if desired.

Fun & Tasty Variations To Try

  • Other Pretzels– Have fun by experimenting with different types of pretzels! Try using Pretzel Crisps or TownHouse Pretzel FlipSides!
  • Chocolate Choices – I made this recipe using milk chocolate melts. However, give these a try with dark chocolate, semi-sweet, or even white chocolate!
  • Toppings – These are topped with sprinkles and/or sea salt but using other toppings would be fun! Pretzel pieces, mini peanut butter chips, crushed M&MS or Reese’s Pieces, and other fun sprinkles would be tasty!
  • Drizzle – Melt extra chocolate to add a drizzle topping! If you use milk chocolate for dipping, try a melted white chocolate drizzle as a topping!
  • Dress Them Up For Holidays – Use colored candy melts for dipping like red, green, orange, or pink for the holidays! Then top them with another colored drizzle or holiday sprinkles!
  • Peanut Butter – I’ve only tested this recipe with Jif creamy peanut butter, but you’re welcome to try a nut-free butter.

Storage Instructions

Store these Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites filled with peanut butter in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Enjoy them for up to 7 days!

Freeze To Enjoy Later!

These pretzel bites with peanut butter do freeze well! Once the chocolate has completely set on the pretzel bites transfer them to an airtight container or Ziploc bag.

Then place them in the freezer and eat them within three months. The bites can then be thawed overnight in the fridge before enjoying or even served frozen!

Steps

  1. Add the peanut butter, butter, and vanilla to a large bowl or stand mixer and cream together for 30 seconds.

  2. Sift 2½ cups of the powdered sugar into the bowl and beat until smooth. If the mixture is still too soft, beat in an additional ½ cup of sugar. The mixture should stick together but not be sticky to the touch.

  3. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

  4. While the peanut butter mixture chills, line two large baking sheets with parchment paper and arrange 100 pretzels on them.

  5. Remove the peanut butter mixture from the fridge and use a medium cookie scoop to portion out the mixture. Then divide each scoop into 4 even portions and roll into small balls and place each ball on a pretzel.

  6. Top the balls with another pretzel and gently press down to secure.

  7. Once all of the pretzels are prepped, melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl for 1 minutes, stir, then microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring after each one until smooth.

  8. Dip the pretzel bites halfway in the chocolate and place back on the parchment paper to set.

  9. Sprinkle with sea salt or sprinkles if desired before the chocolate sets.

Notes

  • If you find that the mixture is not firm enough to roll without sticking, an additional ½ cup of powdered sugar can be added.
  • This recipe was tested and made with Jif peanut butter, all-natural peanut butter is more likely to require more sugar in the mixture.
  • The texture of the peanut butter mixture should feel like soft fudge.
  • I prefer these with coarse sea salt sprinkled on the chocolate, if you prefer to keep them plain or do sprinkles, I recommend adding 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the peanut butter mixture.
