Incredibly Luscious French Silk Chocolate Pie
This is undoubtedly the BEST French Silk Chocolate Pie you’ll ever have! Though this recipe is a slight labor of love the payoff is found in the perfectly sweet Oreo crust, rich mousse-like filling, and fresh whipped cream!
An incredibly luscious dessert that will satisfy you, your taste buds, AND anyone lucky enough to snag a slice!
To make it the best French silk pie recipe, I made the filling with cooked eggs and a high-quality chocolate bar to elevate the flavor. I then opted for an Oreo crust to give it more chocolaty goodness while bringing a slightly crunchy texture to each bite.
To finish the pie off on a high note, I topped it with fluffy homemade whipped topping and fun chocolate curls to show that you’ve gone the extra mile. And trust me, the extra mile is worth it!

French Silk Pie Recipe Ingredients
I really prefer an Oreo Crust when making French Silk Pie. That extra bit of chocolate in the crust compliments the entire pie nicely, making for a sweeter treat!
The no-bake Oreo Crust is made with regular Oreos with the filling intact, salted butter, and additional salt to enhance the overall flavor of the crust. If you’d like, you can swap the Oreo crust out for a traditional pie crust.
Nestled inside the homemade crust is the creamy, rich chocolate filling! This is made with heavy cream, powdered sugar, granulated sugar, large eggs, unsalted butter, and vanilla bean paste.
To bring the chocolate flavor bittersweet chocolate is melted and incorporated into the filling! For this, I prefer using a Ghirardelli 60% bittersweet chocolate bar to give this pie the best flavor.
No French Silk is complete without a thick layer of homemade whipped topping! To make this simply beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together. Then top the pie off with fancy chocolate curls!
No Raw Eggs!
I admit, when I originally introduced my Silk Pie back in 2018 the recipe did include raw eggs. However, I know the majority of people don’t like consuming desserts with raw eggs, and I can’t blame them!
Therefore, I retested my recipe and altered it to include cooking the eggs for the filling. Now it’s a creamy, dreamy chocolate treat we can all enjoy without the worry of raw eggs!
Of course, now that this recipe cooks the eggs it does add a few extra steps (and dishes!) to the process, but the results are more than worth it! The most valuable tool in this process is a kitchen thermometer, this will ensure that the eggs are properly cooked to just the right temperature without over-cooking the mixture.

How To Serve Chocolate Silk Pie
Before serving, make sure the pie has had at least 6 hours to chill in the fridge, though overnight is preferable. It’s also key not to top the pie with the homemade whipped topping until right before serving!
Savor a slice of this pie alongside a frothy cappuccino or your favorite cup of tea! If it’s a special occasion or it’s just been a day, pair your slice with a glass of red wine or even some bubbly!
This a winning dessert whether you’re hosting the in-laws or in charge of bringing desserts to Christmas or Thanksgiving! Or simply indulge in a slice of this pie after the kids have gone to bed while you binge your latest Netflix obsession.

How To Store Chocolate French Silk Pie

How To Make Ahead & Freeze
