Ingredients For A Homemade Iced Chai Latte

To make this homemade chai latte you’ll need chai tea bags, light brown sugar, water, ice cubes, and whole milk. Next, pack in the flavor with a handful of ground spices such as:

  • Cinnamon
  • Ginger
  • Cardamon
  • Black Pepper
  • Allspice
  • Nutmeg
  • Cloves

Then for a fun garnish I chose to top my Iced Chai Lattes with star anise!

Substitutions & Variations

  • Light Brown Sugar – You can swap this out for white granulated sugar, honey, maple syrup, or agave nectar. Just remember it will alter the final taste of this latte!
  • Milk – Feel free to use your milk of choice! You can use almond milk, 2% milk, or really whatever you have on hand.
  • Chai Flavor Boost – You could also make this Chai Simple Syrup to add and boost the chai flavor!
  • Make It Hot – To make a hot Masala Chai Latte, simply add the tea to a mug right after steeping then top with steamed milk.

How To Make An Iced Chai Latte

  1. Add all of the spices to a coffee filter. Then tie the top closed to prevent any leaking.
  2. Place the sachet into a medium saucepan with the tea bags, brown sugar, and water.
  3. Boil and then remove it from heat to allow it to steep.
  4. Remove the tea bags and spice bag, squeezing out any excess liquid.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator.
  6. Pour the tea into two large glasses and add a cup of ice.
  7. Pour the milk over the tea. Then sprinkle with cinnamon and enjoy!

Storage Instructions For A Chai Latte

You can enjoy the chai latte for up to 2 days. Keep in mind that if the ice has already been added it will melt and dilute the taste of the latte!
