Ingredients For Easy Monte Cristo Sliders

This recipe for Baked Monte Cristo Sliders comes together quickly using super easy ingredients! To bake up a batch you’ll need:

  • A Dozen Rolls – I prefer using Hawaiian rolls for their sweetness to make these Hawaiian Style Monte Cristo Sliders. But in this recipe, you can use any dinner rolls that you prefer. Another delicious breakfast recipe using these is my Hawaiian Roll French Toast!
  • Meat – Ham and turkey! I always get the meat from the deli since it’s so much easier to work with when making these sliders.
  • Egg Wash – Made of an egg, melted butter, and ground black pepper. This gets brushed over the tops of the rolls before baking for added flavor that browns up wonderfully!
  • Cheese – My family and I prefer these sliders with swiss cheese. However, provolone or cheddar would also be tasty!

Once the rolls have been baked you can sprinkle them with powdered sugar. Then provide some raspberry preserves or strawberry jam for dipping sauce!

How To Make Monte Cristo Sliders

  1. Slice the whole package of rolls in half without separating them. Then place the bottom halves into the baking dish that’s been sprayed with nonstick spray.
  2. Arrange half of the cheese onto the bottom half of the rolls.
  3. Layer on all of the sliced ham, sliced turkey, and the remaining cheese slices. Afterward, place the top half of the rolls on.
  4. Whisk melted butter, egg, and pepper together in a small bowl. Brush this mixture all over the sliders.
  5. Bake the breakfast sliders in the preheated oven until the cheese has melted and the buns are toasted.
  6. Sprinkle the tops with powdered sugar and serve with a side of raspberry jam if desired!

How To Store Leftover Monte Cristo Sliders

Place the leftover breakfast sliders into an airtight container and store them in the refrigerator. Eat the sliders within 3 days!

You can also wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and tin foil and then place them in the freezer. Once frozen, they can be eaten for up to 3 months.

Notes

  • Storage Instructions: Leftovers may be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  • I want to dip these into jam, but my jam is too thick - how can I thin it? To thin jam, put 1 cup of jam into a small sauté pan with 2 Tablespoons of lemon juice. Heat and stir these together until combined.
  • What kind of meat slices are you using? I prefer to use deli meats because they are so easy to work with.
  • I’m not a big fan of swiss cheese - what could I substitute? Try using provolone, cheddar, or mix some of your favorites.
  • What could I use instead of Hawaiian rolls? I like Hawaiian rolls because they are sweet, but really in this recipe, you could use any dinner rolls you prefer.
  • Can these be made ahead of time? Yes, assemble the rolls, cheese and meat and keep this in the fridge until ready to bake. Then prepare the melted butter and egg topping and pour this over just before you bake the sliders. Without the topping, they could be kept in the fridge for a couple of days.
  • What is the best way to reheat these sliders? They do well reheated in the microwave for about 25 seconds. Or you can reheat them in an air fryer on 350 for 4 minutes.
